Youth Summer Reading Program

What is the Summer Reading Program?

Simply put, it’s a way to make reading fun over the summer!

This year's theme is Read, Renew, Repeat - which will feature the idea and practice of conservation. Conservation as a movement focuses on protecting species from extinction, maintaining and restoring habitats, enhancing ecosystem services, and protecting biological diversity.

This year, the summer reading program runs from June 13 - August 24

How does it work?

There are two ways to keep track of your reading over the summer. The first way is to pick up a reading log at Meekins Library. You can visit our library each week to have your reading log "stamped", and to collect a prize.

The second option is for those who won't be able to physically check in at the library. You can log your reading through this Google Form.

Complete this form by entering the title and author for each book your child has read this summer, from June 13th - August 24th. You may also enter the amount your child has read that week, if they have not finished a whole book. All that matters to us is that they are reading!

Note: Virtual check-ins do not receive a weekly prize. Instead, each form submission equals one virtual raffle ticket for a chance to win a basket full of goodies. At the end of the summer reading program, we will draw the name of our raffle winner! Only one submission per week.

What books count?

Anything! Any book, graphic novel, or audiobook counts!
