Summer reading is all about community this year!

Earn a ticket for every bingo on your board. Use your tickets to vote for your favorite local food justice organization. At the end of summer, we’ll split $300 between them! Want to make an even bigger impact? Donate to our collection jar and help grow our donation fund!

Summer Reading FAQ

What counts as reading?

Almost anything you can think of counts toward your reading progress, including print books, magazines, graphic novels, audiobooks, ebooks, news articles, reading aloud to someone else, and much more!

How does it work?

Stop into Meekins and visit the summer reading table to sign up. Select the bingo card of your choice.

Complete bingo challenges throughout the summer. Stop back into Meekins to get your bingo card stamped and vote for the nonprofits you want to support.

Once your entire bingo sheet is completed, trade it in for a free book, a free ice cream coupon for the Village Green, and a chance to win our grand prize basket of gift cards to local businesses.

What are the prizes?

In addition to a free ice cream at the Village Green, participants will receive one free book for completing their bingo card and an entry into the grand raffle.

The youth grand raffle includes gift cards to the following local businesses:

  • $25 A2Z Science & Learning Toy Store
  • $25 High Five Books
  • $25 General Store
  • $25 Tangle Chocolate
  • … and other assorted goodies!
What local nonprofits can I support?

This challenge feels too easy/difficult for me

We know that everyone’s schedule and reading pace are different, but our main goal is to encourage you to challenge yourself!

Select a bingo board that feels both achievable and motivating for you; the age ranges are just a suggestion.

When is the final day to claim tickets?

The final day to turn in your reading log for raffle tickets is August 22, 2026. Our raffle winner will be drawn the following Monday.
