Writing Stories into Song with Louise Coombe

Join award-winning songwriter Louise Coombe for a workshop focused on stories, storytelling, and songwriting. Open to all ages and experience levels, the workshop encourages everyone – from curious listeners to aspiring writers – to discover and develop their own stories.

The workshop will briefly summarize the history of storytelling in songwriting, how it has shaped social change throughout history and why it’s so important to our current cultural and political discourse and future. The program will end with a challenge to participants to find a story in their lives that needs telling either as spoken word or song and how to approach and refine it.

Louise is an award-winning songwriter who has been putting stories into songs for 25 years. She has won performing songwriting awards from prestigious festival songwriting contests all over the United States…CT Folk Fest Performing Songwriting winner, Telluride Bluegrass Troubadour winner; Kerrville Folk Festival (TX) 2x performing songwriting winner; Falcon Ridge Folk Fest (NY) Emerging Artist winner; SolarFest (VT) Performing Songwriting winner; Mass Cultural Individual Artist Grant winner 2025.
