MAY ART EXHIBITION OPENS: Farm Stand

May 5 @ 10:00 AM 6:00 PM

Our featured gallery artist for May is Bill Arnold.

Bill Arnold was born in Brooklyn. He received his B.A. from San Francisco State College in 1963, and an M.A. from the San Francisco Art Institute.

He sees his role as an artist as finding the beauty in everyday experiences and capturing them with the lens of a camera.

Bill Arnold has been highly influenced by new technologies in photography, including the Itek reading and printing machine he uncovered in 1970 at a public library, and the Kidamento, a point and shoot digital camera; hand-sized; designed for kids; slip in your pocket camera that creates high quality photos.

He has received many honors including a National Endowment for the Arts grant and his work has been exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.

Available for viewing during open library hours this May. The gallery occupies the same space as our community room; if there is an ongoing program, we ask that patrons refrain from interrupting the event.

An artist’s reception will be held on Saturday, May 9.
