Artist statement: Many years ago I viewed an art exhibit of paired portraits, paintings intended as diptychs, but separated – sometimes for centuries. I was struck by how these reunited depictions, though independently successful, together, created a more complex and complete narrative. CONNECTIONS, a collection of recent paintings and collages by Haydenville artist, Joy Kinigstein was inspired by that long ago exhibition.
