Art Reception: Genesis
July 18 @ 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Join us for an artist reception featuring our July gallery artist, Rey Milici.
Life never runs in a straight line . . .
this show is a culmination of that crooked line . . .
Up to a point.
With the realization of Parkinson’s Disease, the renowned Pioneer Valley Realist, Rey Milici, has moved into an abstract approach with his art. ” The images, based on my feelings, began to slowly evolve. The drawings were telling me where they wanted to go. I felt a story line was happening, and it was important to trust in what was emerging. I realize the new work is very different from the realism for which I’ve been known. In many ways, the work I am doing now seems more real, and is all very important to me.”
Available for viewing during open library hours this July. The gallery occupies the same space as our community room; if there is an ongoing program, we ask that patrons refrain from interrupting the event.
