The solstice has passed. Our days are getting longer. Snow will come and so will spring. As we wind down from this 2025 year and look toward 2026, the Meekins Library wishes the best of the season to all townsfolk, friends, and neighbors near and far. The library is grateful for all our years in the community—serving as your library since 1897.
It may be cold outside, but inside the library is warm and toasty. The fireplace is festooned with lights and an antelope dances on the mantle. Outside, a festive evergreen wreath graces the original oak library door. The little fir trees on the big steps twinkle with lights. Shirley Cranston’s winter village glows in the windows. The walkway to the foyer is brightly lit. Meekins shines in the moonlight and the snow light.
On this Christmas Day, Meekins offers everyone glad tidings of comfort and joy. Meekins will be open on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 9 to 2; Tuesday December 30th from 10 to 6; and Wednesday, December 31, New Year’s Eve, from 1 to 5. Come in and start your reading adventure. Daria D’Arienzo, Meekins Archivist and photographer. #throwbackthursday; #tbt.
