“Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices.”
—President Harry S. Truman
Williamsburg remembers. For decades, Williamsburg has remembered and honored, on Memorial Day, those who have protected and served our country with a parade in town and a ceremony at the Veteran’s Memorial Park. Be part of the 2025 parade and ceremony, beginning at 1 p.m. in Burgy town center on Monday, May 26, 2025. Watch the parade and follow the marchers to the Veteran’s Memorial Park for the bittersweet festive yet solemn occasion, a time when the community comes together to remember.
The Memorial is dedicated “To the Men and Women of Williamsburg who helped preserve a free nation.” The park is a peaceful place that honors the men and women in our community who served our country from the time of the Civil War, until today—their names chiseled in stone or raised in bronze.
During this weekend, take time to visit the town cemeteries and pay your respects to family, friends and neighbors who served for us, their stones respectfully marked with small flags. Let us never forget.
