This class entered the Williamsburg High School, on the upper floor of the Helen E. James School, in September of 1924. There were 19 freshmen who started in the class. (See Freshman Class photograph below.)

On June 28, 1928, 12 seniors graduated. Their senior year was chock full—beginning with a rummage sale in September 1927 to benefit the Senior Class Washington trip, taken in May 1928. In between there were debates and basketball and baseball, a Halloween part, and Armistice Day ceremony, more fund-raisers, including the senior play, a “musicale” evening, a card party and a separate whist party, in February, a program celebrating the birthday of Helen E. James, dances and the special junior-senior prom, a festive hot-dog roast, Class Night, showcasing the seniors, and finally, Graduation. The Senior Class of 1928 sat for this special portrait below, which was not part of the 1928 yearbook, “The Tattler”.

(Standing L-R): Evelyn Atherton, Wanda Pennington, Mary Black, Olive Rhoades, Marjorie Otis;
(Seated L-R): Henry Drake, Clara Atherton, Mildred Roberge, Leroy Weeks, Pauline Webb, Logia Kmit, Walter Utley.
Mildred Roberge composed the senior class poem for the 1928 yearbook. Her last verse summed up the students love for their school:
“May mem’ries of this school so bright,
Of teachers who have led us right,
Of schoolmates, friends so kind and true
Abide with us our whole life through.”
