Since 1896, the Meekins Library has stood tall in the center of Williamsburg on a small rise next to the Mill River. In this 1912 color postcard, two young girls look up at the unadorned building. In these vintage photographs from 1978, gardens are in bloom in summer and snow covers the library steps in winter. We wonder who arrived in the plaid baby carriage for a winter visit to the Meekins… #throwbackthursday #TBT
