February 14th is Valentine’s Day and February is National Library Lover’s Month and February 9-13, 2026, is Library Lovers Week. There couldn’t be a better time to send a valentine to Meekins, your community library. Come on in and add your “Dear Meekins, I love you because…” note to the big red community heart in the window, put together by our dedicated Library Trustees.
Get creative and make even more valentines for your special someones and town seniors at the Friends of the Library’s Valentine’s Day Extravaganza—from 10-noon on Saturday, February 14, 2026. There will be tables full of crafting tools to inspire your creativity. Decorate a heart-shaped cookie for that special someone, too.
And let Meekins give a valentine to you—in the form of your very own library card. If you don’t already have one, sign up for a card that puts the world of books, and audio book, and magazines, and DVDS, and more, at your fingertips. Your card is the key to a virtual world of online books, movies, podcasts, so many databases, and our own local history and genealogy sources via the Meekins website (https://meekins-library.org).
What makes you love this community library? Tell us. As for the Meekins—Will you be our Valentine? It is our patrons near and far who are at the heart of our Library. Daria D’Arienzo, Meekins Archivist and photographer. #throwbackthursday; #tbt; #LibraryLovers.
