Love Your Library: February 14th is Valentine’s Day and February is National Library Lover’s Month (#NationalLibraryLoversMonth). It’s the perfect time to send a valentine to Meekins, your community library. And if you don’t already have one, sign up for your own library card!
Come into the festively decorated Meekins and find a new cookbook to make a special treat for your special someone or someones. Ask a librarian to help find just the right poem to share with your secret Valentine. Browse the Valentine’s Day books on display for something to read to your grandchildren. Or bring the kids in to do the Valentine Hunt scavenger hunt with valentines hidden all over the library. Check out a romantic movie from the library’s large collection of actual DVDs or from Hoopla or Kanopy online. Read a romance—choose from a classic Jane Austin to a new graphic novel. Love to know about your own family and town history—explore the small but focused Local History collection to trace your family or just explore the story of our town. Want to show your care for the community—Meekins is a collection site for the local Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors pantry. Want to just relax with a book or magazine in a cozy chair in the John and Alta Black Reading Room—come sit in a comfy chair by the sunny windows and enjoy a chat with your friends and neighbors.

If you are at home, visit the Meekins website to read an e-book on Libby, watch a favorite movie on Kanopy, listen to a book on Hoopla—all brought to you by Meekins, your community library. There are so many reasons to love this local library. Tell us what you love. As for the Meekins—Will you be our Valentine? It is our patrons near and far who are at the heart of our library.
