A glorious late April day. We have been waiting for these precious spring moments for so many months. The sun was shining. The sky a clear soft blue. Just a bit of a breeze. A day for two walks.
Out the door, up Nash Hill, over O’Neill and across Adams to Mountain Street and more—a Haydenville adventure. The perfect temperature for trotting along with frequent stops for photographs. Everything looked glorious. Spring flowers–daffodils popping everywhere. Trees bursting with buds; leaves turning their faces toward the sun. The hills across the fields gathering color. Lichen turning the stone walls green. The weeds bright and merry. Even friendly alpacas. And that was only the morning!
In the late afternoon, strolling all around Williamsburg center and up to the Village Hill Cemetery—peaceful and lovely with that certain slant of light. Cheerful and sweet low-growing flowers. Bees busy in the flowering shrubs of delicate hues. A dandelion already a puff ball. And even a crop of mushrooms!
