What is the Summer Reading Program?

Simply put, it’s a way to make reading fun over the summer!

The theme this year is Level up at your Library! This theme will feature the idea of play. Play is one of the ways we learn to relate to others, to think in new ways, and to foster friendships, new and old. Level Up at Your Library reminds us that libraries are not just a space for knowledge, they are a space for fun!

This year, the summer reading program runs from June 18th - August 23rd

How does it work?

There are two ways to participate in the reading challenge this summer.

The first way is to pick up a reading log at Meekins Library. You can visit our library each week to have your reading log "stamped", and to collect a prize. Complete the log by entering the title and author for each book your child has read this summer, from June 18th - August 23rd. You may also enter the amount your child has read that week, if they have not finished a whole book. All that matters to us is that they are reading!

The second option will be Reading Bingo. This option is for those who wish to add some play into their reading habits. Each time you receive a "Bingo", you can bring your Bingo card into Meekins to get stamped, and to collect a prize.

What books count?

Anything! Any book, graphic novel, or audiobook counts!
